Simpsonville, SC, chiropractor and educator Jaime Browning, D.C., DCCJP, has been honored with the Spirit of Sherman College Award from her alma mater, Sherman College of Chiropractic. The Spirit of Sherman College Award is presented to Sherman graduates who exemplify the true spirit of Sherman College in their professional lives.

“Dr. Browning fully embraces her role in shaping the next generation of doctors of chiropractic,” said Sherman College President Edwin Cordero, D.C. “Students appreciate her unique teaching style, often commenting that she genuinely cares about helping them become the best chiropractors they can be.”

Dr. Browning received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic in 2009 and holds a bachelor’s degree from Lander University. After practicing in Easley, SC, Dr. Browning joined the college faculty, where she serves as an assistant professor of clinical sciences. She teaches several courses focused on the upper cervical spine and its impact on overall health. She is a former member of the United States Navy Reserve, and enjoys mentoring Sherman College students.

Dr. Browning serves as president of the Sherman College Alumni Association and holds memberships in the South Carolina Chiropractic Association, the International Chiropractors Association’s Upper Cervical Council (which she serves as chair), and the American Academy of Thermology.

She recently completed and passed the rigorous Upper Cervical Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures (DCCJP), a program designed for upper cervical doctors of chiropractic who wish to advance their diagnostic, analytical and clinical skills and help improve patient outcomes. The program includes 300+ hours of classroom instruction and takes two and a half years to complete.

Sherman College named its 2019 award recipients in May as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held each spring in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs; this year approximately 700 were in attendance.
