Sherman College student Craig Bryan was recently named Reach Out and Recruit (ROAR) Student Leader of the Year by Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC, in appreciation of his contributions, time and commitment to growing the chiropractic profession.

The ROAR Student Leader of the Year Award is awarded to an exceptional ROAR Student Leader who has participated in a number of recruiting activities leading to the matriculation of students at Sherman College. ROAR Student Leaders effectively lead and inspire groups as a student ambassador, providing inspiration and guidance to prospective students during campus visits and the college’s premier recruiting event, Showcase Sherman Weekend.

“We have seen how Craig exemplifies passion, education, outreach and service as a student at Sherman College,” said Sherman College President Edwin Cordero, D.C. “We are extremely grateful for his service, and we are excited to see the impact he will have on the profession after graduation.”

Bryan is a seventh-quarter student at Sherman College. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, where he played football and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. His hobbies and activities are working out, hiking, throwing the disk and cooking.

“It was not the adjustment that saved my life and motivated me to become a chiropractor, but it was the principle that ultimately led me to Sherman and has helped me become the man that I am today,” Bryan said of his passion for the profession. “The Sherman family is a real thing. Everybody has the same goal in mind, and that is to help people. It is great to be surrounded by that camaraderie.”

Sherman College named its 2019 award recipients in May as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held each spring in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs; this year approximately 700 were in attendance.
