Gary & Cathleen Padden, D.C.s, Named Regents of the Year by Sherman College of Chiropractic

Lakeview, MI, chiropractors Gary and Cathleen Padden, D.C.s, have been named Regents of the Year by Sherman College of Chiropractic. This award is presented in recognition of the couple’s outstanding and continuous advancement of Sherman College through participation on the Board of Regents. This board is comprised of individuals dedicated to supporting quality chiropractic education through their financial donations.

Drs. Gary and Cathie Padden are both graduates of Sherman, Gary in 1983 and Cathie in 1985. Members of the Alumni Association since graduation, the couple have been actively engaged with the college as members of the Board of Regents for almost 25 years, and most currently as members of the college’s Reach Out And Recruit (ROAR) program.

They were named Career Advisors of the Year in 2010 for their great success in sending to students to Sherman College. They currently have eight referred students enrolled at Sherman, with a ninth student planning to enroll this fall. “The Padden Eight” include Casey Bogart, Jeanette Chomic, Justin Peasley, Nick Schuster, Ashley Stalmack and Abbi Vivoda, as well as the Paddens’ son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Tiffany Padden.

They earned a $5,000 scholarship in their names after their fifth referred student enrolled, and the Paddens are well on their way to a second $5,000 scholarship, which they can award to a newly enrolling student(s) of their choice.

Sherman College named its 2011 award recipients May 26-28 as part of Lyceum, an annual continuing education and homecoming event which is attended by hundreds of chiropractors throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held on the college’s campus in Spartanburg, SC, and involves three days of seminars, special events, and other programs.
