Higgins-Fordree Honored with Service to Sherman College Award

Janice Higgins-Fordree, D.C., ’89, of Inman, SC, recently received the Service to Sherman College Award from Sherman College of Chiropractic in appreciation of her contributions, time and commitment to growing the chiropractic profession. The Service to Sherman College Award is given to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary, unselfish and noteworthy service to Sherman College.

 

A 1989 graduate of Sherman College, Higgins-Fordree is an assistant professor, Quality Enhancement Plan director and Title IX coordinator at Sherman College. In 2020, Higgins-Fordree took on an additional role as college’s reopening director, helping guide the college’s reopening policies and procedures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She is recognized with this award for her vital role and service in executing each position with poise and accuracy.

 

Higgins-Fordree maintained a private practice until she joined Sherman College’s staff as a Health Center case doctor in 1997. She and her husband, John, live in Inman, SC, and have two grown sons, Ben and Jon Ross, along with daughters-in-law, Abby and Emily, and two granddaughters, Harper and Rebekah. She enjoys spending time with her family and shooting clay pigeons for sport.

 

Sherman College honored alumni, chiropractors, and supporters during its 48th Lyceum, a homecoming and continuing education event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held each year and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs. More than 600 people participated this year.
