McIntyre Named Rising Star by Sherman College of Chiropractic

Rising Star Award Winner

Summerville, SC, chiropractor Michael McIntyre, D.C., ’18, was recently named Rising Star by Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. The Rising Star Award is given to recent Sherman College graduates who have demonstrated exceptional achievements and service in the community.

McIntyre is a 2018 graduate of Sherman College. As a student, McIntyre was involved with the Gonstead Club, held several leadership positions, and helped develop a Gonstead certification program. His desire to pursue chiropractic as a career came from his experience as a patient. After a year of suffering crippling back pain, he was told that surgery was the only option. A chance meeting with a family friend led him to try chiropractic just days before his scheduled back surgery. He was able to avoid surgery and credits chiropractic care with his recovery.

McIntyre’s experience with a Gonstead chiropractor is what led to his passion for Gonstead work. He continues to mentor students in Gonstead technique and plans to pursue a diplomate in the Gonstead technique.  After graduating and moving to Texas to open his first chiropractic office, it did not take long McIntyre and his family to realize that South Carolina had truly become their home; he is now opening a second office location in Summerville, SC, where he lives with his wife and four children.

Sherman College honored alumni, chiropractors, and supporters during its 48th Lyceum, a homecoming and continuing education event attended by hundreds of chiropractors and students throughout the U.S. and internationally. Lyceum is held each year and involves three days of seminars, special events and other programs. More than 600 people participated this year.

Registration is now open for Lyceum 2022, register early for next year’s event
