Undergraduate Preparation for Chiropractic School

When deciding whether to become a chiropractor, there are several factors to consider: How much will it cost? How long will it take? Where can I go to school? One of our most common questions is, “Do I need to have a bachelor’s degree to come to Sherman College?” The answer might surprise you!

You don’t need a bachelor’s degree to get into Sherman College of Chiropractic. However, several states require both a bachelor’s degree and a doctor of chiropractic degree to obtain a license to practice in those states. This information changes often, so we recommend checking the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards’ official website regularly to ensure you’re prepared to work and live in the state or states of your choice.

While we evaluate each student individually, we generally recommend that all students earn their bachelor’s degree before enrolling at Sherman College of Chiropractic. This ensures you will not face any restrictions on where you can practice chiropractic within the United States. 

For students seeking the fastest path to Sherman, we recommend attending one of our partner undergraduate schools. Some of these colleges and universities offer 3+1 programs that help you complete prerequisites, enroll at Sherman College a year earlier, and earn your bachelor’s degree simultaneously.
